Rooted in indigenous weaving techniques passed down through generations, these vessels are crafted using wild-harvested forest materials—traditionally resilient jonote bark fiber and bejuco wood. Our most recent collaboration honors this heritage, offering a piece that bridges ancestral resilience with modern practicality.

Form and Function

The enduring strength of the Nahua Huacal lies in its open-weaved structural design. Engineered as a robust carrier, the basket was historically used to transport harvested crops, seeds, and daily provisions across diverse terrains. An integrated woven strap allows for comfortable, ergonomic transport, allowing the vessel to transition seamlessly into a highly functional tote or an organic woven artifact for the home.
